Last Things First | Strength When You're Feeling Weak

Iron Coast Church

Teaching from Justin Weece | April 6th, 2025

Rev 3:7-13 (Philadelphia)

Ever feel like you don't have what it takes? Like everyone else seems to have it figured out while you're just trying to keep your head above water? Whether you're just exploring faith or you've been following Jesus for years, we all know what it's like to feel inadequate - like we're not strong enough, smart enough, or spiritual enough to make a difference. The church in Philadelphia knew this feeling all too well. They weren't the biggest church. They didn't have the most resources. By all outward appearances, they were small and insignificant. But Jesus saw something different. Where others saw weakness, He saw an opportunity for His strength. Where others saw limitations, He saw possibilities. Their story speaks to anyone who's ever felt too small to matter. To everyone who's wondered if showing up even makes a difference. To all of us who feel overwhelmed by what we can't do instead of trusting what God can do through us. This week, we're discovering what happens when we stop trying to be impressive and start being faithful. Because here's the truth: God isn't looking for your perfect performance - He's after your willing presence. Whether you're taking your first steps of faith or trying to trust God with your limitations, there's freedom in realizing that our weakness doesn't limit His strength. Join us as we explore what it means to find strength not in having it all together, but in being honest about where we need help. Because sometimes the biggest impact comes from the people who don't look impressive at all.
